Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Position: | The IT unit in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation is seeking an hourly student to help with information technology support to the MAPP Community. The successful candidate will be expected to;
- Provide 20-30 hours of shift coverage at the Technology Solutions Center (TSC) during normal business operations (8am-4pm, Mon-Fri) per semester and in the summer, located in the ARCH building.
- Assist MAPP+D faculty, staff, and students with technology-related issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Assist the IT director and IT specialist with a variety of technology-related tasks including laptop/desktop support, laptop/desktop imaging, audio-visual system troubleshooting, large format printing.
- Help with general administrative duties which includes inventory control and maintaining documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Must be currently enrolled as a student in one of the following majors: computer science, computer engineering, and/or information systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient using both Microsoft Office programs and Google Workspace applications.
- Knowledge of Windows and macOS and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of printer troubleshooting, which includes installing new ink/toner cartridges and installing new print drivers on client computers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
- Have an understanding of computer hardware.

Preferences:
- Previous experience in a customer service role is highly desired.
- Previous experience working in an academic environment.
- Previous experience in Adobe Creative Cloud and Autodesk product suites.
